Wedding Dress Designs for Dancing – Part 1 – The Detachable Underskirt

Other than wearing a mini wedding dress or changing into a bridal reception dress, most brides face the daunting task of dancing their first dance in a long, often full gown.

There are a few things you can do to make life on the dance floor easier. The first of these is to wear a bridal gown with a detachable underskirt.

Our good friend Lori Del Genis over at Conscious Elegance has designed just such a bridal gown (and it’s made with eco-friendly fabric too!).

Lori says “Brides can wear the full formal ensemble for the wedding and then lose the underskirt for the reception”. Even better, the dress can be worn again and again as a cocktail dress giving it great value and a sustainable future. Think how great you will feel wearing again the dress you wore on your happiest of days, your wedding day.

Remember when you are trying on your gown think about how you need to move around the floor and how your partner will interact with it. Do some test moves so that you can be sure it fits comfortably and will not shift around you during your first dance.
